Summer San Francisco City Hall Wedding and Reception

If you pay any attention to Bay Area weddings, you are probably no stranger to San Francisco City Hall. It’s a popular spot for elopements and civil ceremonies. However, Chrissie and Suchith rented out the entire building for their summer San Francisco City Hall wedding. This gave them the benefit of an empty building (otherwise filled with other couples and government employees) and a city hall reception! Their day was filled with so much joy and laughter between the couple and their closest loved ones. 

We started with getting ready photos at Chrissie’s parents apartment in San Francisco. She was going to wear some of her mom’s wedding day accessories, so I made sure to photograph them with other details. I love when brides and grooms are able to incorporate special items from their parent’s wedding…it makes me think about what my own daughters might use on their wedding day! As you’ll see, Chrissie was even able to wear one of her mom’s cultural dresses during the reception.

Both Chrissie and Suchith are doctors – can you say power couple? In addition to their obvious smarts and attention to detail, they are incredibly fun! Fun people attract fun people, and their wedding party was testament to that. We laughed our way through bridal party photos before the ceremony. We utilized the 4th floor for almost all the bridal party and couple photos then tried to go outside to the grand doors.  If you’d like to use the doors during a weekend wedding communicate with the sheriffs in the building beforehand; they need to plan exit/entrances in advance. After some clarification and communication, they did let us go outside to take photos with the grand doors. 

Their parents were extremely fun as well and that showed during the toasts! The whole reception hall was laughing as both dad’s shared stories about Chrissie and Suchith in their younger days. The reception ended on the dance floor with a live band. The live band adds an ambiance that is just unmatched!
