Cody and Melissa | Hayward Engagement Session

Her sister, knowing the proposal was coming, had to get Melissa the day off of work. Cody was a firefighter at the time and told her he wanted to show her his territory up on China Peak. When they got up there, he popped the question that forever changed their lives! And the best part was…her whole family was in on it, and she was completely surprised! (Spoiler alert…she said yes!).

Last week was super sunny… except for Sunday. Guess which day we had planned our session? Sunday!! I’m so glad Cody and Melissa were willing to brave the rain for their engagement session in Hayward (I feel that theme has been prominent this engagement season…I love the rain, but I’m ready for some sunshine!!). They brought their sweet 8 month old son Westyn, who was a DREAM baby. Not a peep from him the whole entire session…he was so happy just to lay in his stroller and look at the trees above him! There’s a sweet picture of the three of them halfway down 🙂 Cody and Melissa are getting married in San Jose in June…and I cannot wait to photograph it! They have been working so hard to make their dream day a reality and I feel honored to be a part of it.

Thank you for trusting me with your engagement photos! I can see in the way you look at each other that there’s an extraordinary amount of love and respect between the two of  you. You guys are such great parents and it’s obvious that Westyn absolutely adores you both! I know your wedding will be a celebration to remember! I’ll see you guys in June! <3
