3 Tips for Curly Hair

1.) Nourish the scalp. Healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp! Doing regular oil treatments with an oil that can absorb into your scalp is the best way to heal and moisturize it.

2.) Care for your hair! This includes:

  • Using a wet brush on both dry and wet hair. Hair is most prone to damage when wet, but brushing (even while dry) is the number #1 cause of breakage.
  • Use Scrunchies! The popular elastic ties break hair.
  • Emulsify shampoo in your hands. Trying to make it foam in the shower by rubbing your scalp vigorously can cause breakage.
  • Comb through hair when you condition. Conditioner only covers 30% of your hair if you don’t, and moisture is super important for curls!

3.) Use the right products! Not every product will bring curls back to life. You’ll want them to be silicone and sulfate-free. Cheap gels can cause breakage and flakes. If you want a recommendation for the same products I use, click here!
